How to Use DSE ScoreCoach in 3 Steps: Snap, Step-Mark, Improve

DSE ScoreCoach does one thing well: it turns your paper into a diagnosis precise to the marking point. First time? Walk through these three steps.

Step 1 — Snap & submit

Work the question on paper as usual, showing your steps, then take a photo and upload. Handwriting is recognised — one photo per question, no need to write question numbers. Even lighting and a flat page improve accuracy.

Step 2 — Watch the step-marking

The AI grades step by step against the real DSE marking scheme:

You see exactly where each mark is earned or lost — not just right/wrong. For lost marks, ask the AI to explain. For maths we use a SymPy deterministic check plus step-wise LLM grading — a dual engine for trustworthy results, with human review on key items.

Step 3 — Turn weakness into strength

Every mistake flows into your mistake book, with weak points pinned to the syllabus's smallest objectives. Using SM-2 spaced repetition (the same forgetting curve as Anki), it brings them back on the day you're about to forget — as same-objective variants, so you learn the objective, not the question.

To verify progress, run a timed mock: get topic strengths, a predicted grade, and one-click practice on your weak spots.
